Accounting group removes 8 of 16-strong leadership in move that cuts female representation

Deloitte axes half of UK executive team

Deloitte has axed half of its 16-person UK executive team including the managing partner and the heads of three of its five service lines, in a surprise overhaul that will reduce female representation at the firm’s top table.
Eight of the accounting firm’s most senior partners are set to be removed from the leadership team to make way for six newcomers, only one of whom is a woman, according to people briefed on the changes and documents seen by the Financial Times.
The shake-up, which was not communicated to staff until the firm was approached by the FT on Thursday, is set to be billed internally as a “refresh” and presented as business-as-usual, according to two people at the firm.
