Aadhaar card update: These Aadhaar cardholders have to submit updated documents with UIDAI

The Aadhaar has become a popular identification document over the past few years. Aadhaar is the most preferred document from opening bank account, applying of SIM, to gas connection. In order to take advantage of these programmes and services, the general public must keep their Aadhaar data updated with the most recent personal information in order to avoid complications with Aadhaar authentication and verification.

According to a PIB press release issued on October 11, 2022, “Such persons who had got their Aadhaar made '10' years ago and have never updated after that in these years, such Aadhaar number holders are requested to get the documents updated.”

“Accordingly, in this regard, UIDAI has provided the facility of document update to the Aadhaar number holders with the prescribed fee, through which the Aadhaar number holder can update the Proof of Personal Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents in the Aadhaar data. This facility can be accessed online through M y A adhaar P ortal ( https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ ) or residents can also visit any nearest Enrollment Center to avail the same,” added further.

According to a recent UIDAI tweet, “You can easily Update Demographic Details (Name, DoB, Gender, Address) online.”

“Did you get your Aadhaar issued 10 years ago and never got it updated?,” tweet added.

In another tweet, “Update your #Aadhaar and enjoy its many benefits! Aadhaar is beneficial in availing various government and non-government services like Driving licence, opening bank accounts, etc.”


How to update details in Aadhaar?
According to the UIDAI website, there are 2 different ways you can get your details updated:-
By Visiting Permanent Enrolment centre. Search nearest enrolment centre by clicking on “Locate Enrolment Center” on uidai.gov.in.
Online using Self Service Update Portal (SSUP). Click “Update Aadhaar Details (Online)” on uidai.gov.in.

Fee involved for updation in Aadhaar details
You must pay the service provider Rs. 50 (including taxes) each time you get your information updated for Aadhaar, whether it be biometric or demographic
