Santander hired law firm to investigate bankers’ strip club trip

Santander hired a law firm to investigate a group of bankers who visited a strip club after a day of company meetings and whether younger employees had felt pressure to attend.
The incident took place in February after the bank’s global debt capital markets team converged on the Spanish lender’s UK headquarters for departmental meetings, according to several people with direct knowledge of the events.
That evening, seven male members of the team — including three senior managers and four junior staff — went to the Nags Head Gentlemens Club in Aldgate, which describes itself as “one of London’s oldest lap dancing establishments”.
